Music For The Morning After- Pete Yorn-- CD Review

The CD came out months ago, I am not claiming to have discovered him-but for those of you who are still unaware...please allow me to introduce you to Pete Yorn and his debut album, "Music for the Morning After". Let me say this: I don't care how you do it-you must obtain a copy of this CD. For the love of all things musical-do yourself an auditory favor and give Ol' Pete a listen.

This album (I'm old-I still say album) is so good that it causes me physical pain. You know that weird flutter you get in your stomach when you hear something too good? Too good to stand, almost? I am aflutter, my friends. From start to finish, Pete Yorn has produced a great CD-14 tracks of delight. It may be a little more mellow than you are used to-but still highly addictive. I can not stop listening-I sing along, I cover my headphones with my hands and allow Pete to reverberate through me. His lyrics are fantastic, simple and somehow, almost excruciatingly romantic. He is not sappy a la Enrique Inglesias-his sense of yearning feels sincere, and his voice is -dare I say? haunting? passionate?

Each track is seperate from the others, the sound and energy-this CD has everything. Wonderful guitar, almost twang-y at times, I promise you will bounce your knee, tap your foot, lie on your bed in the dark and let his music surround you....Maybe that's just me. I can barely choose a favorite-#1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, 13?...I truly haven't liked an album this much since...um... the first time I heard Radiohead. I know! Now, regarding the aforementioned CD pilfering-of course, you should buy this CD-if only for the photo. The shot of Pete Yorn in a T shirt is worth the $20. Sweet Lord. I can barely stand it.
