What Have We Become?
I'm a bit confused. Why, you ask? Perhaps because I'm alive. And because you're alive. Weird you think? Yes I am.

The topic at hand is societies acceptable mediums. Wow, big thoughts coming out of my brain, unheard of. So I have put together a list of these for your entertainment and perhaps to ask a few more questions.

1. Bottled water? Why does this exist? Has the human race not made it this far without? Why is it the norm to drink water out of the bottles, lovingly bottled in the hills of the Himalayas, straight from pure ice sitting on the top?
2. CNN. Do we need this much of it? Should we be drilled constantly with the terror in the skies, on the ground, in our heads? Does anyone really care that Buffalo has this much snow?
3. The workweek. What happened to supporting your family and community? Why are we all striving to achieve something that none (or a small percent) of us want. Work harder, faster, better (to quote Daft Punk). The workweek, in our lives will become 6 days, for many it already has. Are we ever going to get a chance to enjoy the fruits of these labours.
4. Technology. When will it stop? Are we all to live in a world of computer chip implants, serial numbers tattooed on the back of our necks. I think it will crash; actually hope is a better world. What is next, the internet has expanded our lives, but has it made us more inclusive or more egocentric?
5. The GAP - Enough is enough. They smartened up and stopped 'dressing everyone in leather' but still create clothes for automatons. Perhaps we will all decide to go with the same outfit 'the silver-suit with the stripe' as Mr. Sienfeld put it.
6. Advertising. I work in the industry, yet have I heard that we are planning to project ads into peoples dreams, but I fear for its coming.
7. Commercialization of everything. Remember the 60's? Neither do I. But I bet they weren't as commercial.
8. Lottery winners. What kind of machine do they have that ensures a winner be living in a trailer park (or so similar environment) which seemingly deems them more qualified than I to win.
9. Cars, Trucks, Trains, Planes. Can we travel quicker? Is the transporter much further away?
10. Email, Fax Machines. I hate to bring it up again but when we are stressing out, pulling fingernails out, screaming and yelling at colleagues because an email is taking too long….we are working too fast. There were days when memos were typed. Although most readers of this probably won't remember.
