| Tommy Lee: Never A Dull Moment -- A CD Review | |||||||
|
Motley Crue was one of the most influential rock bands of the 80's and early 90's and almost that alone makes it worth while to buy this CD. Never a Dull Moment signifies Tommy Lee's sophmoric release post Pamela and post Motley Crue. Tommy left the band after spending time in jail when that bitch set him up and had him sent there. As detailed in "The Dirt" by Motley Crue that's when Tommy really came into his own when it came to song writing. Now I don't own the Methods of Mayhem album, I really had no reason to buy it. From what I saw, it was Tommy getting off on mic and camera. No, that I don't expect everyone to own, but this album is good. Honestly I haven't had too much time to listen to the the album, and what I have heard I think will take some time to grow on me. But there are two that are fucking fantastic and to just take the chance that more songs like that get made, you should buy this CD. The single Hold Me Down, is really good, a real radio friendly song. Now I mean alternative, or rock or whatever you want to call it. But it just is a great tune to hear blasting out of your car speakers. Ashamed, is probably my favorite tune on the CD so far, just a really solid track. Brandon Boyd of Incubus provides backing vocals on this track and as a burgeoning singer I really have to commend the boys for their work on this song. Tommy has really advanced his ability as a singer, it's obvious he's put some time into bettering his craft, and this album shows it. Tommy deserves to make it as a solo act, he is the embodiement of a rock star, when I sit here with those songs blasted and I'm singing along? It's like I AM that mother fucker man. That bitch Pamela fucked him up for a bit and had the public thinking he was a monster, but now that she's proven to be the common trash that I believed she was, I think it's Tommy's chance to really make it to the next level as a solo artist. I love the Crue and I really wish he was in the band, but he's not and if he's not going to be there I wish him all the best. And for that reason alone ANY Motley Crue fan should buy this album. Download MP3's of the songs I mentioned and if you like them go out and pick up this album. In a society where we vote with dollars, vote for this guy like I said he deserves it. Downs
