| Here's
a quick list of a few of the big movies to hit the theatres this summer.
I would review Star Wars and Spiderman but I figure everyone on the planet
has seen those and we know they're good.
Road to Perdition Perdition (per-dish-en): Loss of the soul; eternal damnation Director Sam Mendes (American Beauty) brings us into a world of revenge, reconciliation, and family relations. 'Perdition' gives us a powerful look at the Chicago area mob of the 1930's and father/son relationships. A story of Michael Sullivan (Tom Hanks), a respected hit man, who gets tied up in a plot to destroy his family after his son witnesses a mob murder. Superb acting, wonderful cinematography, and accompanied by a fitting soundtrack this movie brings us right inside the lives of the Rooney crime family. While not the fastest moving film on the market, 'Perdition' keeps your attention and interest from beginning to end as long as that jerk behind me can stop eating his popcorn for like a minute man they should only sell like licorice and marshmallows at the theatre. Oh yeah, this movie is totally worth the price of admission, even if you go on an expensive night and buy lot's of overpriced crunchy snacks. MIB 2 Wil Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are back again to save the world from alien invasion. Who cares Here's what you do: Rent the original, make some popcorn, and burn a twenty-dollar bill in the fire. There that's MIB 2. Actually no wait hit yourself in the head with a rubber mallet to simulate the pain of sitting through the sequel there, that's MIB 2. If you just have to see it, (because the original was actually good) wait for video save the money and the let down. This proves once again that a talking dog cannot save a movie but a talking pie on the other hand Minority Report Good, Good, Not so Good. I like Spielberg movies,
I like to see Spielberg do good movies, but I don't like Spielberg endings.
Minority Report is a quality film; futuristic, a little dark, good action.
Based on a short story by Sci-fi writer Philip K. Dick. The future brings
us pre-crime an experimental police force with the technology to predict
murders before they happen. Tom Cruise delivers a good performance as
John Anderton, head of the pre-crime unit, who is accused of murdering
a man that he has yet to meet. A movie that you would expect from Spielberg,
Cruise, and like 40 begillion dollars. Totally worth seeing in the theatre
to enjoy all of the big sights and sounds. However, the ending left a
bad taste in my mouth in which case makes it a borderline must-see. Enh,
If you don't make it to the theatre for it, rent it for sure. Matt Damon as an action hero? But he's too short he's Good Will Hunting he's that golfer dude in that movie no one saw make HIM into a perfect weapon with amnesia? Sure, why not? So that's what they did. And they did a pretty good job of it too. Fishermen pull Jason Bourne (Matt 'Private Ryan' Damon) out of the sea with no memory of who he is and bullets scattered though his body. He has to find out who he is, why some guys are chasing him, and why he's so damn good at kicking ass not to mention sex up the girl, played by Franka Potente (Run Lola Run). This movie delivers on many levels action, intrigue, adventure and a car chase. Kind of a different take on the spy thrillers we're used to. See it in the theatre is you have the chance, it's worth the money especially if you see it on a Tuesday. Reign of Fire Action Flick- good. Dragons -good. Both in the same movie? - well, good. Fantasy meets modern armament in the new flick by veteran TV director Rob Bowman. The year is 2020 and the world has been taken over by fire breathing dragons cool so far? Quinn (Christian Bales) is in charge of a small camp of survivors outside of London, England. Enter brash, egotistical, American (Mathew McConaughey) and his band of modern day Dragon slayers. There's bad blood but there is always bad blood. Then some good ol' dragon fightin' begins. For the type of movie it is (mindless action flick) it delivers. The acting is really pretty good, the story is somewhat acceptable, and the special effects are adequate I say adequate because some scenes are really good while others not so good. I was pleasantly surprised by this one I'd say see it in the theatre if you like your action movies big if you have a big screen and 5.1 at home then piss off and watch it there you spoiled little brat um movie. Do you Agree with what he's saying?
