I'd Do Halle Berry
It was my turn to answer. All eyes turned towards me in anticipation of my response. Nervously my brain rushed to finalize my retort. After a brief pause concluding my thoughts I began to speak.

"Cameron Diaz, Halle Berry, Eliza Dushku, Caprice and Torrie Wilson"

The group went silent for a moment taking in my reply. I nodded my head in approval of the list I just communicated.

"Yup… there it is." I continued. "That's my list of the top five celebrities I'd have sex with."

Don't you just love those conversations where we share our unattainable wishes? Those times where we formulate our responses to such queries as "if you could be anyone in the world who would you be?" or "what would you do if you won $30 million dollars" and "if you could do any job what would it be?" I relish these incredible discussions where for a brief moment we strip away any barriers or limitations of possibility. Just for the purposes of debate we expand our minds to think on an even playing field of circumstances. Forget about whether you can actually carry a note, if anything was possible, you'd want to be a singer. Forget about for just a second that Cameron Diaz on her most charitable day probably wouldn't touch you with a ten foot pole, if anything was possible, you'd hit that. Forget about the scientific improbability of you being able to physically become John Lennon, if anything were possible happiness would be a warm gun. How can you not love to fantasize about such things?

Well I've learned that some people sure don't like too…

While in the midst of divulging my celebrity carnal fantasies to my posse one person spoke up and rained on our parade. "Why do you waste breath on these types of conversations?" they asked. "It is such a waste of time and energy, it's not like these things could EVER happen." It was at that moment that I felt sad for this poor person, as with their words they illustrated they were too chained to reality. This person was a prisoner of the status quo, they were content with settling with the ways things are and someone who clearly did not have the ability to dream.

To ponder these likely unattainable dreams is healthy. Why should we always be so steeped in the "possible"? Wishing for the chance to become an accountant, to move to Vancouver or to own a house one day are not dreams but rather goals. Goals are necessary and are what keep us moving forward. But dreams, those wild fancies or hopes, those are the things that motivate our desires. For only when you can eliminate any of the restrictions of possibility can you truly understand your deep aspirations. Maybe I will never get the chance to be a filmmaker, but damn if I wouldn't love to be one.

I say, once in awhile it is liberating to explore these somewhat crazy "what ifs". Sometimes it's good to think big. Don't not include Halle Berry on your list just because it doesn't seem possible. When we dream, we should dream in technicolour.

…but that's just my opinion.
