Kiss my ass U-haul.

So as all of you loyal readers know, I've made the move from Toronto to sunny coastal Halifax. Sure now that I'm here things aren't so bad, but let me tell you the journey alone nearly killed me.

So you want to rent a truck and drive it one way across the country? Well there is only really one company to call, and that would be U-haul. Sure there are other people who rent trucks, but they don't really specialize in one-way rentals, so you get a bit fucked in the price, well now I know why.

I was all set, I checked out every possible alternative, and honestly U-haul was the best, I made my reservation online, received my confirmation and was basically all set. Now the local reservation experts were supposed to call me the day before I was scheduled to pick this truck up. After waiting all day I phone this place at like 6:30 at night, only to be told that someone would call me the next day with a time and place to pick up my truck. This was not good, I was supposed to HAVE the truck tomorrow, not get called about where to pick it up. I was beginning to get a bad feeling in my stomach.

Saturday morning, and I realize that my phone has been shut off, because the U-haul people were supposed to have called the day before to tell me where to get this fuckin thing. So now I have to phone them again, and give them a cell phone. Well fuck me if it isn't like the 28th of June, and everyone and their dog is trying to move, I'm like calling this fuckin place for 3 hours before I even get through to connect. THEN, I am put on hold for over 45 minutes. So now my cell phone is running out of time, I'm starting to get really pissed off here, when fuckin Tammy comes on the phone and tells me that my truck is down the street waiting for me, all I have to do is go pick it up. Well just to be sure I phone the place I am to pick the truck up, and fuck no, they don't even know who I am, they have no truck for me.

SO, back I go again calling and calling, by this time its now Saturday afternoon, I'm not only supposed to have the truck by now, but I'm supposed to be fucking loading it already. So after another couple hours on hold and redial I finally get connected to Shariff, who tells me that someone will call me at 3:00 today to tell me where I can get my truck. I'm like 3:00 today, motherfucker, your fuckin email said you would tell me YESTERDAY by 5:00. I'm like I need to talk to a manager, this is bullshit, I'm a fuckin customer here and I need some service. So then, this fuckin winner starts to argue back with me, telling me he is just a human and so am I, and that he is doing the best he can. I'm like that's fine fucker, then connect me to someone who can do something. Like who the fuck argues with a customer that they don't deserve customer service? I nearly fuckin lost it on this guy. But I had to calm down, if I pissed off this fuckin jerk, I'd never get a truck.

Somehow I let him get me off the phone, with a promise that someone would call me in the next hour. Of course the fuckin hour ticks by and I end up going through the entire fucking thing again, redialing for fuckin hours, only to be put on hold for almost another hour. FINALLY I get a new guy, who tells me straight out, he doesn't have any trucks. No shit motherfucker, I kinda figured that out about 2 days ago. Was that so hard to tell me? At least I knew he was trying to fuckin get me something. So he finally calls back late that night, he can get me a truck first thing in the morning on Sunday, but it's a 26ft truck, and I had only booked a 16ft truck would that be alright? Well fuckin right its alright now, I mean I've got my wife flying down in 20 hours to meet me, I'm already a day late leaving, of course I'll take the bigger fuckin truck.

What a fuckin nightmare and I hadn't even gotten the fuckin truck yet. I mean these people have a total fuckin monopoly on this industry and can't even run their fuckin business correctly. Since that trip I heard of at least 3 other people in Toronto who had trucks booked with U-haul and didn't end up getting them? I mean how the fuck is this company still in business? It's not like when you are moving you have a lot of time to do it, there is a set date we all have to be out by, and I nearly missed mine because of these fuckin assholes.

So there you go, U-haul can kiss my fuckin ass!
