I mean I take a lot of cabs, a lot. But come on people there are some fuckin idiots driving around this city. The other Friday I was taking a cab home from the office, it had been a long week and I had a headache. First guy stops and then goes and picks up the lady down the street. Fuck you. Next guy stops, I tell him where we're going and how to get there and we're off. I have learned in my cab taking that if you just tell these fucks where you want to go they will go any combination of ways. Fuck that. I tell you where to go and I tell you which roads to take to get there. So I lay back, close my eyes a bit and relax. What in the fuck is that noise? Oh, well Mohammed up front has some sort of Indian radio talk show on. And hey I don't give a fuck what your nationality is but man that shit sounds like ass. Do I say anything? No. I respect this individual's right to listen to what he wants, although I'm the motherfucker paying to be driven home. Give me a fucking break. And if any of you write in and tell me I'm racist I will find you and kill you. Fuck you. So then, buddy decides he's going to change the station, I guess the show got boring, all Chinese to me. THEN, he switches it to an Indian music station. JESUS CHRIST. This is worse than the fucking talk show. Here we have a person playing drums and some woman being tortured. WHO CALLS THIS MUSIC? And you know what? Who cares? But I shouldn't have to listen to it while I am being provided a service and paying for that service. Do I say anything? No. Why? Because of fucking political correctness, I can't say shit to this guy. And that is fucking bullshit. Man I'm so getting worked up here writing this. I mean for fuck sakes, that is fuckin bullshit.
So anyways, my point is there is no one out there checking these guys out. I get into some cabs and get out without the driver ever speaking 2 words to me? Who is this guy? I don't know, but if you find bodies in his basement I wouldn't be surprised.
This one time, I'm taking a cab home from work and the genius behind the wheel really wants to get me home early and turns up a side road to beat the traffic. Well there was a car parallel parking and the cabbie went up on the curb to get around and slid down the little snow pile and ploughed into the parking car. AND KEPT GOING. I'm in the back going, "man you just hit that guy I think you should stop." Meanwhile, the guy he hit, AND the car behind him, are all following us. I'm in a hot pursuit in a cab and I didn't even do anything. My house was only blocks away, so we pull up as does 2 cars and plus a cab who was behind. The guy jumps out of his truck and starts yelling at me. I'm like "Whoa buddy, I know your car got hit but just calm the fuck down. This guy made all of his own decisions I was just a passenger." He believed me and asked if I would be his witness. I agreed and when the cabbie asked me to pay for the ride I told him to fuck himself. I mean come on. Sure it was fun as hell but shit man, I could sue let alone pay for my ride.
Ever have one of those overly friendly cabbies? Hey I like a little chit chat but fuck man, I do not want to know your life story. I could give 2 fucks if you used to be an engineer in your country, you're in my country now mother fucker, and here you're a cab driver.
