This
problem has plagued me all my life. Just take a look at this pic here.
Yup, this is me with the long hair in my high school days. Note the jewelry
on the suit. Now that is classy. LOL. Sure it was nice and women just
loved it. I used to get so tired of women saying how nice it looked. I
also got tired of being mistaken for a woman. That happened at the Drive
In once, the chick behind the counter is like, "Can I help you Ma'am?"
I was like, nice. The place is packed and everyone is laughing at the
poor white trash rocker. The point is that even though it was long I don't
remember it ever being cool. And this would continue to be a problem for
me later in life.
So,
fast-forward a couple years to College. I don't actually remember a lot
of my college years; I found this pic in an old box. Note the CRS on the
T-shirt that stands for Can't Remember Shit another problem that would
follow me around in life. Again though, no real style here to my locks,
anything saying "Hey run your fingers through here, "or"
Yeah I'm a young film student about to take on the world. Something more
along the lines of "Hey Bond, grab me a beer."
This fine
piece of photography is from a couple years later still. By now I had
been working for a few years, in my early 20's and ready to take on the
world. Sure I still had a lot to learn, and sure I would show my small
town roots in any conversation but I was starting to make it. And I think
this haircut isn't soo bad. I had some people who said they liked it but
it just never felt like it was the one you know? I don't know, maybe it
felt fake, like it wasn't really me. Is that possible? Where do beautiful
people go to get their hair done? Am I just going to the wrong people?
I'm sure the 60 year old italian guy I go to would disagree though.
And here
we have the most recent endeavor, "The messy Look." Which boasts
my newest and I feel coolest do, I even dyed my hair black. I go to a
very chic place and put on this robe and get my haircut. It looks pretty
cool, but some people thought I hadn't showered yet and it's a pain in
the ass to have. To get it to stay this messy, you have to put this paste
in your hair. Well after a day at the office you come home and you want
to relax, but the hair wont move. I lay down and it gets all pushed in
its really fucking annoying.
So I've
been wearing a ball cap for months, and now my hair has gotten kind of
long. I wanted to grow it to look like Johnny Depp in Blow. The thing
is growing long hair isn't easy. I have to go to Mardi Gras in like 2
weeks and I look totally stupid. So what do I do? That's my problem. I
could go back to the messy spikey thing but is that my only choice? I
would have to re-dye it to I suppose.
So that is my question where the fuck do you go to get cool hair? How do these guys at bars do it? Am I worrying too much about this? That I don't think is the case because I have never really had great hair.
You know what though, this was a lot of fun getting old pictures and making fun of myself. I'll tell you what I'll make a contest, why don't you dear reader email me a pic of yourself with a good funny description. And I will give the author of which one I think is the best, one of our Boldopinion.com ball caps. Now the only rule I would have is to please use a picture of your self. It's way too easy making fun of other people, hell I do that all the time on the subway.
