| The Eminem Show -- A CD Review | |||||||
| The
Eminem Show marks Marshal's sophomoric effort to date. And while a lot of
critics are panning this thing, I fuckin love it. Sure I'm a white guy who
listens to mostly rock, but man this guy is good.
Without Me the single you are all currently bopping your heads too is great. He did it first with My Name is What?, then again with The Real Slim Shady and once again with this great diddy. This guy talks about not being able to sit down and write hits, but I'll tell you he sure can do it when pushed too. Most other reviews I read of this thing came out before the album, which is also before this album broke every record for single day sales ever made. Now a lot of those guys are eating their words, I've liked this ever since I got it, a week ago. Cleanin out My Closet is a very introspective track where Slim comes clean and really shows us his feelings about the situation with his mom. LOL not like he hid his feelings before, but this is just way more honest. Em has really grown up on this album, while still verbally assaulting anyone who dares cross him, he is also showing some really great song writing. White America is a great track, here he tells us all how he could be any white kid in America, a very scary thought indeed. Sing For The Moment which takes it direction from Aerosmith's Dream On is exquisite. Firstly, this song was born to rap over, the beats just rhyme off and feel soo good. Here Slim asks how rap has gotten so big? They were just sitting on their street corners, rapping and now they have anything they want. A good point here. Most of these artists, hell artists anywhere are just average people until they make it. Something all of us can stand to remember. SquareDance; a great rap really innovative, Say What You Say; a really good tune, where Dre shares the rapping duties. There really aren't any bad songs on this CD, which I find very rare. Eminem tells it like it is, always, maybe to a fault but I can appreciate that. He's a no bullshit guy, and so am I. Marshal Mathers is an awesome rapper, and he's a great personality, these
things make him a star, a worthy star. Check out The Eminem Show it's
really worth the price of admission. Do you Agree with what he's saying?
