My Cancun friend - I got shafted
Believe me I understand. I have a dosy for you. I young but old enough I should have known better. I had meet a friend in Cancun who work there. Of course at the time he was seperated from his wife and my last nite we talked for hours. I have called him several times to say hi, he was hinted for the longest time how excited he was to see me again. meanwhile I have lost about 75 pound and I look very different and have learned to take care of myself. Today I call him and he became very cold and said things were much better with his wife and that he trying yet two minutes before he was looking at my picture and said that he had it with him. He has said so many nice things over the phone. Please don't think I am bragging but I do not have a picture, i was a model for 7 years. He became very cold and kept saying that things were better with his wife and he is really try hard. Do think I care that he and his wife are getting along. Really all i wanted was a friend at least to show me around once I move to cancun for 6 months. I told him I would not call him anymore. He really, really changed and was frankly very blunt. He really hurt me and made me made. I do alot of community service and I just wanted to call him when he has long nites at work or to send him cultural materlal to read. I got shafted. I am not really sure what to do. Honestly part of me want to give him at taste of his own message. We have been talking for months and that's how he treats me. It was though he I wanted to take over his life. I it made him very nervous that I am going to cancun to live. I am going there to learn my third language, not for him. Gosh I have never been more angry or hurt. I should have known better.

And suffice it to say, I am certainly pleased that you are going to Cancun to 'learn' a third language. That's very commendable. If you mind me asking, what are the two you already know? How many endless nights of slaving over the books (or tapes) did you have to put in? I have always wanted to be literate in multiple langages but have always been just a tab bit too lazy.
But enough, ready for it, pontificating about my woes. I'm here to help the needy. People like you CK. It does sound like you need some advice. I am here to offer up the solution to all your problems, no matter how unimportant others might think they are.
You know CK, as I read and reread your letter I am little confused. About every third line you seem to brush on the fact that you really do know the answer after all. Then, you disappoint me and lose the will to directly confront the problem. Here is the straight stuff laid out for you. Men are pigs. That's about all I have for you. Men will use you till the ends of the earth, if you let them. You can turn the tables on them in a second. I am also quite sure a model of your stature has used many men in the past and is probably using one right now. Please say hello to him for me.Attention mild manner readers, here comes the part where you need to pay attention.
CK, if you chant this mantra over and over for a brisk 15 minutes each night just before you go to sleep all your man troubles will be gone. You will be a free and happy, independent, intelligent, sophisticated, cultured woman.

Now that that's settled, you really shouldn't be worried about going to Cancun alone. It is a haven for beautiful (you are a model), lonely people. In fact I have met a few of these people there myself. Vacant, blasé, uninteresting beautiful people who know how to have a good time.
Some highlights of that fantastic locale include Carlos 'n Charles, Fat Tuesdays, The Coco Bongo Club, Senior. Frogs and Pat O'Brien's.
You should forget about trying to experience any culture, such as the Ilsa Mujeres, Mayan Ruins and Chiapas. These are all boring and do not include the beautiful, vacant, blasé and uninteresting people.Within the locations I just listed you'll never meet someone to forget all your troubles and woes. You need to cut loose and attend the first list of locations I gave you for a great time. Trust me no one will try to get you drunk, get you naked, pick you up, take you to his casa and use you. That doesn't happen in Cancun, its full of nice, pleasant, respectful people.
There you go folks…no guy will ever, ever use CK again.
